Alec Mitchell

Alec Mitchell was born and raised in Red Deer, AB and completed his undergraduate degree in genetics at the University of Alberta. He then moved to Calgary to earn a master’s degree in biomedical technology. Following this, he stayed in Calgary to complete his medical school. He was exposed to Urology early in his second year and loved every opportunity with Dr. Bryce Weber at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Alec is very excited for the opportunity to train at UBC’s world class facilities under their internationally renowned faculty. In his free time, Alec enjoys staying active, whether it be working out at the gym, running grouse grind or finding a new trail to hike. Additionally, he’s excited to check out his favorite animal, the penguin, at the Vancouver aquarium!
